Supplements – Something that completes or enhances something else when added to it. Supplemements can’t be a foundation. If we’re building a house, supplements are like siding. You don’t really NEED it, but it’s a good idea to really round out the whole package. The foundation, the basement, the studs, and the walls are all build by your lifestyle. Your diet (eating real, whole foods in healthy balance), exercise, sleep/recovery, and stress. In order for us to succeed at our fitness goals, whatever they are, we need a STRONG foundation. Don’t overthink what, when, and how many supplements you need until you’ve dialed in the most important contributing factors. In short, are you getting 7+ hours of sleep, every night? Are you eating real, whole foods that align with your specific fitness goals? Are you practicing down-regulation like meditation, yoga, and mental/spiritual balancing techniques? If the answer to ALL of these questions isn’t “yes” then don’t even worry about supplements. Let’s fix and establish healthy lifestyle habits, FIRST.
