Build a base. Develop a strong foundation from which you can build on, sending your pyramid high into the sky.
Do the little things. Rarely will what you need to do be what you want to do. Most the the necessary work won’t be “fun” or “sexy”. Most of it won’t earn you a lot of instagram views. Develop absolute strength, sound mechanics and proprioception, then and only then, push yourself to develop higher level skills. Once your foundation is laid and set, and your skills have been sharpened, apply yourself to the competitive sport, if you wish.
