Kalamazoo Strength & Conditioning has completely changed the way I look at my personal fitness and health. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable, the community is awesome, and the gym is huge! Since joining a year ago, I have gained strength, flexibly, skill, and confidence. My husband and I were both collegiate athletes, and yet we are in the best shape of our lives now - all thanks to Jack, Trinity and the Crossfit 269 coaches!
I've dropped into well over 100 CrossFit boxes and paid visit to another 100+ gyms; Jack Kelly is one of the most intelligent, well educated, and passionate coaches/teachers I've ever encountered. His ability to program, scale, teach, and exemplify "FITNESS" and "HEALTH" is spectacular. On top of that, he's surrounded by an amazing staff and community. This isn't a box JUST for CrossFitters, it's for anyone who wants to get better.
This is better than your regular gym! I've been doing some personal training with Jack for my upcoming soccer season at Olivet and lets just say he is getting me well prepared for that. He is one of the best coaches/personal trainers around if not the best. The atmosphere is great and everyone is very supportive. I absolutely love going there!
I LOVE this place! I am a 60-plus, nonathletic grandma who was not sure this was something I could tackle, but I desperately wanted to get into shape. Jack and Trinity and their trainers are supportive and so aware of my limitations vs the younger crew that works out there. The people that work out here are accepting and fun. I am so much the better person, physically and mentally, for taking the time out to come here!
I have been a member since January, and the coachs are amazing. They help you with anything you have struggles with, and everyone is so encouraging. I love how everyone walks around and high fives when you complete your work out. It makes me feel motivated and hyped to come back. I also like how Trinity and Jack encourage doin business with other local businesses. It is a great place, and I have made it part of my life style. My friends always say, "Here she goes . . . talking about CrossFitit again" Love love love it!
Crossfit 269 has taught me so much about myself. It has taught me commitment to health. The opportunities to improve and encouragement from the Crossfit 269 community and coaches are limitless. The strength and improvement I've seen in just 5 months is beyond anything I was expecting. Being here is always the best part of my day! The coaches are so knowledgeable, it truly is a school of fitness! You won't find a community of people committed to your improvement just as much as their own anywhere else.
CrossFit has been a part of my life for almost two years now. CrossFit 269 has been the gym I call home for the last year and it was the best decision I ever made. CrossFit 269 not only has a state of the art facility but the coaching and overall atmosphere is second to none. There are many CrossFit gyms out there where the coaches are unsure as to what they are teaching. There are also many gyms out there where the head trainer / coach doesn't pay attention to his students / clients. CrossFit 269 couldn't be further from either of those. Jack, Anthony, Kilo, Sara, Jordan, Brandon, Vince, Heather, Trinity, and Kate have one goal and that is to make you better. I would recommend no other gym in the country!
What makes CrossFit 269 such an amazing gym is the CrossFit 269 family. It starts with Jack, the owner and head coach. He genuinely cares about his students and is an amazing teacher. He has put together an amazing team of coaches who help you through your weaknesses and improve your strengths. When you first walk into to a CrossFit 269 you will notice, its not your normal gym. People come up to you a say hi and everyone is friendly. They make you feel at home, no matter what kind of shape you are in. They support you when your having a bad day and cheer for you when your having a good day. They have become my good friends. I though about joining a CrossFit a year earlier, watch a few videos and thought it was to hard and didn’t go in. When I finally came in, I wish I had done it sooner. I may not be able to do everything, but I have improved, and if I can do it, anyone can.
I have been a member of Kalamazoo Strength & Conditioning for six months and it has been the best fitness experience that I have ever had in my life. I have learned and experienced overcoming plateaus in performance can be overcome. The training staff works with your at your own skill level; everyone has got to check this gym out!
CrossFit 269 is THE place for fitness and community in SW Michigan! As a former collegiate track & field coach, I've had the privilege of working with athletes from grassroots to Olympians, so coaching and training were important in my quest to get back in shape. Jack Kelly's training program is fantastic - he has a keen sense of the overall fitness needs and well-being of the members of this "box" and the staff at large is an exemplary reflection of his leadership. Whether you're new to fitness, looking to re-kindle the flame, or building on a fitness lifestyle, you won't find a better place to be, nor will you find better people to be around. You'll come to get fit - but you'll stay because of the community. CrossFit 269 truly is "Nulli Secundus"... Second to None!
I've been here for one year--my third CrossFit gym. The coaches are very knowledgeable, supportive, and friendly. I came with a strength imbalance from a knee injury and Jack gave me specific programming that helped even it out in a few months. KSC offers more individualized training than the average box, has lots of open gym time, a great Barbell Club, and they have all the equipment you could ever need. Great programming and community too!
I've been going to Kalamazoo Strength and Conditioning (aka CrossFit 269) for over a year now. As someone who has been overweight all my life and had over 100 lbs. to lose, I was nervous to start but excited about the challenges it would offer. The coaching and community here are top notch and supportive. Adapted options for movements are always offered and provided without judgment. I feel myself getting stronger every day, and I look forward to working out, which is not something that I have ever felt in my life before.
I know this will sound dramatic, but KSAC has truly changed my life! The coaches at KSAC are all super encouraging and caring. Honestly, I had terrible experiences in PE in high school and then pretty much swore off physical activity altogether. I decided to give physical fitness a try again in November 2015, 18 years after my last PE class, by going to KSAC and I have not looked back since. Since joining I have run 3 5Ks, rode my bike 80 miles in a day, deadlifted more than my body weight, can do pull ups, can climb a rope, can do a handstand, and successfully completed Murph! Right now I am training for my first Half Marathon and my first CF competition in October. On top of all of the fitness success, KSAC has given me a sense of community that I was really lacking since I moved to Kalamazoo from California 4 years ago, and I will be forever grateful for that. So, if you are looking to do something really positive for YOU and find out all of the amazing things that your body can do, join KSAC now!! You will be happy you did! Looking forward to seeing you at the gym! (Oh, and btw, sometimes gyms can be very intimidating spaces for LGBT people, but as an openly gay man who works out at KSAC with his husband I have never had a problem and found it to be a really supportive community - I know when I was looking at possible CF gyms this was a concern of mine and wanted you to know)
This is the place to be if you want to get fit. All the coaches are very encouraging and knowledgeable about their craft. The classes are awesome. If you want to jump into the cross fit revolution, this is the place to be. It is the hardest work I have done in my life, but the results are for a life time.
KSAC (Home of CF 269) has been my home since December of 2013. The owners, head coach, assistant coaches, and fellow members are second-to-none. Creating a community of excellence and helping make you better are their top objectives and they succeed in this each and every day. I would advise only KSAC to friends, family, and loved ones. It's the place I will work out for as possible!
I have been a member at ksac for 20 months... (Wow! nearly 2 years!!) Man time flies when you’re having fun! That is a simple way to explain what happens at ksac... its fun. When I started working out I was in a place in my life where I needed a personal change... so I decided to try CrossFit. I had a friend that had shared CrossFit in detail... he convinced me to try it... so I reluctantly walked into to ksac scared and completely intimidated. My first day was HARD! But I felt welcome, and i appreciated the help I received from Trinity... she was so great. She made me feel like I wasn't going to die!
AND I DIDNT!
I turned 43 this year and I have made more goals and personal gains in the last year than I ever have.
ksac has not only become a part of daily routine but I started in the beginning going 3 days a week and even struggled w that, now I'm up to 5 days a week... and I feel so much better physically and emotionally. The coaches and programming you receive at ksac will genuinely be the best work out you'll ever get... come and learn to be a champion, even if your champion is just learning to squat! Ksac is where it's at! Come drink the Kool-Aid you won't regret it!
